INNISFIL, ON: Last week’s race at Chaudiere was postponed due to weather leaving Gary Klutt eager to get back behind the wheel and continue adding to his top 10 finish point total.
“We went out and tested last week at Sunset and we were just as fast as last year,” says Klutt. Last year he qualified first and ran a grueling total of 268 green flag laps. Exhaustion was inevitable but this year Klutt says, “I’m hoping we get some opportunities for pit-stops so that my crew can flew their skills.”
As the competition heats up, so is the weather. With such a long race we spoke to Klutt to see how he prepares for this type of race, “It’s going to be a hot one this weekend, and these short tracks are so physically and mentally demanding! Just gotta focus on hydrating this week and keeping my cardio level up.”
Klutt’s off season training is sure to come in hand as he pushes through to complete this tought short-track race. Coming off of a top 10 finish, he looks to add to his point total and continue climbing the leaderboard.
